Six Gynecologists form a rock band to raise awareness of gynaecological cancers
Tens of thousands of women are diagnosed every year with a GYN cancer. Nearly one in three will die. Every hour, approximately ten women are diagnosed with one of the five major below the belt cancers: cervical, ovarian, uterine (endometrial), vulvar and vaginal.
Survivors often say, ‘I didn’t know.’ What they didn’t know are the signs and symptoms of GYN cancers. That’s why Spark Media produced No Evidence of Disease and its companion piece, What Every Woman Should Know, a 16-minute multimedia guide to the signs and symptoms of all major GYN cancers. It features the N.E.D. doctors, survivors, N.E.D. music graphic and most of all information you need to know.

Know the signs and symptoms of gynaecologic cancers:
Ovarian—Honey this is not just gas!
Uterine—Spotting after menopause is NOT your period!
Fallopian—Lots of watery discharge does not mean your hoo-hoo is well hydrated!
Vulvar—that little itch could be telling you something!
Vaginal—dots, clots, and new white spots!
Cervical—bleeding after hanky-panky should make you cranky.
About the band
N.E.D. (NO EVIDENCE OF DISEASE) is no ordinary rock band. The members are six gynaecological cancer surgeons, who use medicine and music to fight for the lives of their patients.
N.E.D. was created as a cover band to entertain their peers at a medical conference. What was started as a novelty then turned into a powerful awareness movement to give a voice to women effected by gynecologic cancers as the group saw the potential to reach women in a powerful way – through music..
N.E.D. or ‘No Evidence of Disease’, are the words every cancer patient wants to hear. The cornerstone of N.E.D.’s Mission is education and awareness. They have released two albums of original music, that have received critical acclaim. Their songs are designed to empower women, give them hope and to break the silence surrounding gynaecologic cancers.
