Here’s a thought provoking video from filmmaker Gary Turk.
Described as a “spoken word film for an online generation”, Look Up reflects some of the concerns flagged in the previous article we featured on mindfulness (see it here) that looked at the impact social media can have on anxiety levels and the basic human need for real social interaction.
Turk takes this idea of life lived versus life via social media. Look Up, he says “is a lesson taught to us through a love story, in a world where we continue to find ways to make it easier for us to connect with one another, but always results in us spending more time alone.”
The story telling in this short piece is beautiful, moving and just a little unsettling. Food for thought for us all as we tap at our smartphones…
